🎨 Art and Culture Center Hollywood Opens 2026 Summer Exhibitions — Tonight

One of Downtown Hollywood's most celebrated cultural institutions is opening its summer season tonight. The Art and Culture Center of Hollywood at 1650 Harrison St presents its 2026 Summer Exhibitions opening reception this evening — a chance to meet local and national artists, explore the new galleries and discover a side of Hollywood that most residents never experience. One of South Florida's most respected contemporary art spaces, right in the heart of Downtown Hollywood.

2. 🏗️ 8-Story Apartment Complex Planned for 400 S. Dixie Highway in Hollywood

Coral Gables-based Bridge Asset Management is advancing plans for an 8-story residential development at 400 S. Dixie Highway in Hollywood — right on US-1. The project, designed by Realization Architects, would replace a cluster of 1950s-60s office buildings with a modern apartment complex. The development is contingent on a rezoning approval from the city. With Revv Hollywood nearby approaching completion and multiple other projects advancing across the city, Hollywood's development boom along its main corridors shows no signs of slowing.

3. 🐢 Sea Turtle Nesting Season Peak – The Numbers From Our Beaches Are Remarkable

We are right in the middle of peak sea turtle nesting season — and the numbers along our coastline are extraordinary. NSU's Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program documented over 3,000 nests last year, and 2026 is tracking even higher. Three endangered species nest on Hollywood and Hallandale Beach — loggerheads, greens and leatherbacks. If you're on the beach before sunrise you may spot their distinctive crawl tracks. Guided nesting walks are every Wednesday and Friday at 9 PM at Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park in Dania Beach. Spots are filling up fast — reserve yours now before the season ends.
