Analytics on Live Data. No Pipeline. Just Postgres.

Most teams treat analytics as a separate problem. As data grows, they add a warehouse, a pipeline, a sync job. By the time data reaches their dashboard, it's already stale.

TimescaleDB takes a different approach: extend Postgres instead of splitting away from it.

Your transactions and your analytics run on the same database, on live data, with no pipeline in between.

Hypertables partition time-series data automatically as volume grows. Hypercore compression cuts storage by up to 95%. Continuous aggregates pre-compute rollups so dashboards stay fast without re-querying everything.

CERN runs it on Postgres to handle sensor data from the Large Hadron Collider.

No second database. No migration. Same Postgres you already know.

🌤️ TODAY'S WEATHER - Friday, July 10

🌡️ High: ~91° | Feels like 103-107° | Hot, humid, heat advisory likely
Another hot, sticky one - even the Norwegians are feeling it. Mostly sunny early with feels-like readings well into the 100s and the usual afternoon storm chance building inland. A heat advisory is likely, so hydrate, find shade midday, and take it easy if you're out at the game or the beach.

TODAY'S TOP STORY

It's the biggest sporting weekend our stretch of South Florida has seen in a while. On Saturday, July 11, England faces Norway in a World Cup quarterfinal at Hard Rock Stadium (going by "Miami Stadium" for the tournament), with kickoff at 5 p.m.

The stakes are huge for both sides. England topped their group and beat DR Congo and Mexico to get here. Norway is the Cinderella story: playing in their first World Cup since 1998, they stunned five-time champions Brazil 2-1 - with Erling Haaland scoring both goals - to reach their first-ever quarterfinal.

No ticket? No problem. There's a free watch party (with free parking) at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise for ticket holders, and beachfront and downtown spots all over Hollywood will be packed - see today's Spotlight for one right on the sand. You can also catch it on WSVN Channel 7. Wherever you watch, it's a great weekend to be a soccer fan here.

📰 NEWS & STORIES

Here's the fun part: one of the teams is basically our neighbor this week. Norway flew into South Florida after knocking out Brazil and set up camp at the Four Seasons in Fort Lauderdale, training locally as they prep for Saturday's showdown.

The stars are out and about - Erling Haaland and Sander Berge hit the links at Turnberry-Isle in Aventura, with Haaland stopping for photos with young fans. Norwegian supporters have followed the team down from New Jersey, so expect the famous "Viking clap" thunder to echo around town. Captain Martin Odegaard is keeping the faith: "in football, anything is possible."

Their toughest opponent might be the weather - the players admit the South Florida heat is "a big change" (it was 73° back in Oslo). England, meanwhile, lands Friday. Pick a side and enjoy the takeover.

Zoom out from the beach and our city is in the middle of a boom. There's nearly $1.5 billion in real estate completed, planned, or under construction across Hollywood right now, with the downtown and beach corridors leading the way.

The headliner is University Station, a public-private project rising downtown that will bring 216 units of affordable and workforce housing, a 635-space parking garage, ground-floor retail, and a new Barry University College of Nursing campus - a rare mix of housing, transit, and higher education in one spot.

Add in the new restaurants, apartments, and shops filling in along Harrison Street and the Broadwalk, and the trend lines point up. Growth brings growing pains, but downtown Hollywood is clearly having a moment.

Just up the road, one of Hallandale's biggest projects just hit a milestone. The West Tower at Oasis Hallandale - a 10-acre, two-tower development at 1000 E. Hallandale Beach Boulevard - received a partial Certificate of Occupancy for its first 12 floors, clearing the way for the first residents to move in within weeks.

The numbers are big: two 25-story towers with 250 condos each (priced from $750,000 to just over $5 million), a six-level, 70,000-square-foot amenity deck with resort pools and fitness space, plus 60,000 square feet of shops and dining. The West Tower is already 85% sold, and the East Tower - which has topped out - is due in 2027.

Retail tenants moving in include KC Market, a couple of med spas, and the buzzy Italian import Signor Sassi. It's another sign of just how fast Hallandale Beach is growing.

Bring the family, grab a bite, and browse - a perfect kickoff to a big weekend.
