Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Warren Sapp is in legal hot water right here in Hollywood. The 53-year-old Pro Football Hall of Famer was charged with interfering with city employees after multiple heated confrontations at Hollywood City Hall and Police Department HQ — all of which he filmed and posted to social media. A judge placed him on pretrial supervision, banned him from the police records division and ordered him to stay 500 feet away from staff. Sapp says he was seeking "transparency and accountability" and claims he was assaulted by an officer during a 2025 visit. When asked by 7News what his endgame was, Sapp said: "I've never been a nice guy." A court hearing on whether the case goes to trial is coming up soon — The Hollywood Blend will be watching. 1. 🐢 Dania Beach Now Home to a World-Famous $1.5M Sea Turtle Sculpture Dania Beach just landed something truly extraordinary. A monumental 8,000-pound bronze and steel sea turtle sculpture by world-renowned marine artist Wyland — titled "The Sea Turtle Beach" — is now permanently installed at Dania Beach Boulevard and Gulfstream Road. It's Wyland's first-ever permanent public sculpture in the contiguous United States and only the third installation in his ambitious global initiative to place 100 marine-life sculptures in 100 great cities around the world — joining pieces in Beijing and Alaska. The $1.5 million work was commissioned as part of Dania Beach's Public Art Program. It's free to visit anytime and makes for a spectacular photo stop. Take the kids this weekend!

2. 🗳️ Hollywood's Congressional Seat Is Up for Grabs — Special Election Coming Florida's 20th Congressional District — which directly represents Hollywood, Hallandale Beach, Dania Beach and Miramar in Washington D.C. — currently has no one in Congress. Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick resigned in April just ahead of a full House expulsion vote after the House Ethics Committee found her guilty of 25 fraud violations. A special election is being organized to fill the seat. This is one of the most significant political moments our four cities have seen in years — The Hollywood Blend will keep you updated as candidates declare and dates are set.

3. 🚧 Two Key Dania Beach Bridges Getting Major Rehab — Here's What to Expect The Florida Department of Transportation launched a bridge rehabilitation project earlier this year covering the US-1 bridge over the Dania Cut-off Canal and the Stirling Road bridge over Canal C-10. Phase 1 is on track to complete in 2026 with Phase 2 to follow. Crews are upgrading expansion joints with ultra-high-performance concrete and resurfacing bridge decks for long-term durability. At least one lane in each direction stays open throughout construction — but build in extra time if you regularly cross either of these bridges.
