TODAY'S TOP STORY

Hurricane Season Starts Today — Your Hollywood Preparedness Checklist 🌀 June 1 is here and the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season officially begins today. The good news: NOAA is forecasting a below-normal season driven by developing El Niño conditions — 8–14 named storms with just 1–3 potentially reaching major status. But South Florida knows better than anyone that it only takes one storm to make it a bad year. Here's your checklist before the week is out: stock at least 3 days of food and water per person, locate your nearest evacuation zone at broward.org/emergency, charge your devices and backup batteries, prep your generator, secure anything in your yard that could become a projectile, and make sure your pets and any family members with special needs are part of your plan. Special needs residents can register for shelter assistance by calling Broward County Emergency Management at (954) 831-3902. The time to prepare is before a storm is ever on the radar — not after. Stay safe, Hollywood. 🙏 Source: City of Hollywood / Broward County Emergency Management

📰 NEWS & STORIES

Full Details Revealed: Hollywood Boulevard Closes for Massive World Cup Watch Party — June 27 We now have the full picture of what's coming June 27 — and it's absolutely massive. Hollywood Boulevard will be completely closed from US-1 to 21st Avenue from 7 AM through 3 AM the next morning. Multiple giant video walls and viewing screens, food trucks, retail vendors, live entertainment and secured entrance checkpoints at both ends. Parking just $10 at city-operated garages and the Taylor Street parking lot from 3 PM. Completely free to attend — just wear your team colors and show up. With Hard Rock Stadium just minutes away hosting World Cup matches all summer, Hollywood is positioning itself as the ultimate fan destination. This is the biggest single event Downtown Hollywood has ever hosted. Mark June 27 in your calendar right now. Source: City of Hollywood

2. 🌿 Hollywood's Best Kept Secret: Anne Kolb Nature Center Has Kayaks, Manatees & Zero Crowds
Most people drive right past it on the way to the beach — but tucked along Sheridan Street, the Anne Kolb Nature Center at West Lake Park is one of South Florida's genuine crown jewels. Over 1,500 acres of protected mangrove wetlands, five miles of kayak and canoe trails winding through a jungle-like landscape, a 68-foot observation tower with panoramic views, and wildlife that includes manatees, dolphins, ospreys and herons. Kayak and canoe rentals available right on site. Entry just $1.50 per person. On a weekday morning before the summer heat builds up, this is the best two hours you can spend in Hollywood — and almost nobody knows about it.

3. 💧 Good News for Hollywood Beach Residents: Boil Water Advisory Officially Lifted
Hollywood Beach residents can breathe easy — the precautionary boil water advisory issued after a water main break on A1A has been officially lifted. Repairs are complete and the water is safe to drink again for all customers from Iris Terrace south to Hallandale Beach Boulevard. No need to boil before consuming tap water any longer. Normal service fully restored. Source: City of Hollywood

4. 🏗️ Hallandale Oasis East Tower Taking Shape — And It's Looking Stunning
If you've driven down Hallandale Beach Boulevard lately you've probably noticed the striking glass facade going up on the East Tower of Hallandale Oasis at 1000 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd. The 25-story residential tower — designed by world-renowned firm Arquitectonica and developed by Giuseppe Iadisernia with MGM Construction Group — is the second and final tower in the Hallandale Oasis mixed-use development, bringing a total of 500 condo residences to one of Hallandale Beach's most prominent corners. One more sign that Hallandale Beach is having a serious moment.
