📰 NEWS & STORIES

1. 🍝 Two Hot New Restaurants Just Opened Near You — Hallandale Beach & Dania Beach Foodies, take note. London's legendary Signor Sassi — celebrity haunt since 1984, just steps from Harrods in Knightsbridge and known for regulars like Rihanna and The Rolling Stones — opened its first-ever US location right here in Hallandale Beach in March. The 200-seat dining room at 1006 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd is already drawing rave TripAdvisor reviews for its lobster spaghettini, truffle carbonara and wagyu tomahawk.

And over at Dania Pointe, cult pizza favorite Mister O1 has opened with its famous star-shaped ricotta-stuffed pies and slow-fermented dough. Two of the most buzzed-about openings in South Florida — both right in our backyard.

2. 🌀 Good News for South Florida: NOAA Predicts Below-Normal Hurricane Season With hurricane season starting June 1 — just five days away — NOAA just delivered some welcome news: forecasters are predicting a below-normal 2026 Atlantic season, driven by an incoming El Niño. The outlook calls for 8–14 named storms with just 1–3 potentially reaching major hurricane status. A 55% chance of a below-normal season is good news — but as experts always remind us, it only takes one storm to make it a bad year. Use this week to check your supplies, review your evacuation zone and make sure your plan is ready before June 1.

3. 🗳️ Hallandale Beach Election Season Kicks Off — Qualifying Now Open Hallandale Beach residents — your city's political future is up for grabs this fall. The qualifying period for the November 3, 2026 General Election just opened, with Mayor and Commissioner seats on the ballot. The qualifying window is short — contact the City Clerk at [email protected] or call (954) 457-1489. Could be the start of a historic race for Hallandale Beach — The Hollywood Blend will be watching closely.
