📰 NEWS & STORIES

Hard Rock Hollywood is throwing the ultimate World Cup party on Thursday June 25 from 8–11:30 PM — a Latin pool party at The Guitar Hotel featuring Colombian superstar Jessi Uribe. One of the most streamed Latin artists in the world, Jessi Uribe earned a Grammy nomination in 2024 for Best Mexican Music Album — the first Colombian artist ever to receive that honor. Tickets start at $120 including premium open bar. The Guitar Hotel's iconic interactive facade will light up to the music throughout the night. 21+ only. A one-of-a-kind night celebrating the World Cup and Latin culture right here in Hollywood.

Hollywood's own Mickey Byrne's Irish Pub at 1921 Hollywood Blvd made WSVN's coverage of the World Cup's opening night — and for good reason. The American Outlaws, one of the largest USA soccer supporter groups in the country, packed the pub wall-to-wall for USA vs Paraguay, filling the venue with uproarious energy from kickoff to final whistle. "It is no holds barred as you can hear behind me. It's kind of crazy but we're all here supporting our men," said fan Matthew Quintana. Mickey Byrne's is showing every single match of the tournament — making it Hollywood's unofficial World Cup home base for the next month. Go early, wear your colors and expect the best atmosphere in all of Broward County.

The economic wave is already hitting our four cities. Hotel room rates across Broward County are up 130% compared to last June — with the strongest demand centered around June 27 when Colombia plays Portugal. Each major World Cup match is projected to generate $110 million for the region according to Visit Fort Lauderdale. Restaurants, retailers and entertainment venues along the Broadwalk and Downtown Hollywood are all reporting exceptional foot traffic. With seven matches at Hard Rock Stadium running through July 18, this economic surge is just getting started. For Hollywood, Hallandale Beach and Dania Beach businesses — the world literally just landed at our door.

Most people walk or drive past them every single day without a second glance — but Hollywood has a rich and extraordinary collection of public art spread across Downtown, the Broadwalk and its neighborhoods. Highlights include the Joseph Young Bust at ArtsPark honoring Hollywood's visionary founder, the MLK Bust with historical reflection details, Romero Britto's vibrant "Butterfly" sculpture in Young Circle, the iconic Hollywood Sign at 21st Ave & Hollywood Blvd, and the Clayton Swartz Heart Sculpture at 2314 Adams St. The City of Hollywood just published a complete guide — a perfect self-guided walking or cycling tour for a summer morning or evening. A completely different side of our city worth exploring.
