Your K-Cup Has Been Sitting in a Warehouse for Months

That grocery store pod? It was roasted long before it hit the shelf. Coffee starts losing flavor within weeks of roasting — which is why your morning cup tastes flat, no matter how nice your machine is.

Angelino's does it differently. A third-generation roaster in Los Angeles, they roast, grind, and seal every pod in-house for peak freshness, then ship it to your door within days of roasting. The difference is the first thing you'll notice: real aroma, real flavor, no bitterness.

Mix and match from 50+ specialty coffees, teas, and flavored blends — all Keurig®-compatible — and save more with every box you add, up to 34% off at 12+. Order once whenever you're running low, or subscribe for an extra 5% if that's easier. Entirely up to you.

New customers get 15% off their first order — applied automatically, no code needed.

🌤️ TODAY'S WEATHER - Wednesday, July 15

🌡️ High: ~94° | Feels like 105-109° | Hot, hazy, heat advisory
Another scorcher. Heat advisories are in effect with feels-like readings near 109 in the afternoon, and Saharan dust is keeping skies hazy and rain chances low (around 10%). Hydrate, take midday breaks in the shade, never leave kids or pets in a parked car, and keep an eye on older neighbors.

TODAY'S TOP STORY

The World Cup reaches the final four tonight, and it's a heavyweight: England vs Argentina in Atlanta - their first World Cup meeting since 2002, and one of the sport's great rivalries. England got here past Norway (a Jude Bellingham brace), while Argentina edged Switzerland in extra time behind Julian Alvarez.

Here's the local angle: the winner advances to Sunday's Final in New York/New Jersey, but the loser doesn't go home just yet. They come to our backyard - Hard Rock Stadium hosts the third-place Bronze Final this Saturday, July 18, at 5 p.m. In other words, one of tonight's giants will be playing right here this weekend.

No trip to Atlanta required to enjoy it. Beachfront and downtown watch spots all over Hollywood will be buzzing tonight - and if you want the full-blast version for the Final, see today's Spotlight. Pick a side and enjoy the ride.

📰 NEWS & STORIES

Harrison Street keeps leveling up. A wave of new restaurants is landing in the heart of downtown, turning our walkable main drag into a genuine dining destination.

Leading the pack: Blu Steakhouse, a high-end, art-deco-inspired steakhouse coming to 1900 Harrison Street, and Milieu Cafe, an Italian spot slated for 2044 Harrison. They join an already-strong lineup that includes The Tipsy Boar, Le Comptoir, Labios Kitchen & Lounge, and Social Room.

Add in the Broadwalk's beachfront restaurants and the new arrivals filling in nearby, and downtown's momentum is easy to taste. It's a great time to skip the drive to Miami or Fort Lauderdale and eat close to home.

Good news for local duffers: Hollywood Beach Golf Club - the city's public course, first opened way back in 1924 - reopened in April after a two-year, $13 million redesign, and the early reviews are strong.

Architect Richard Mandell's overhaul brought a new clubhouse, upgraded turf and drainage, reworked layouts, and fresh bunkers and greens. A recent Axios review called it "good bang for your buck," praising the modern, fresh feel and the wide, forgiving fairways (great for amateurs), though it noted a few tee boxes and greens still settling in, and no driving range yet.

Tee times run on dynamic pricing with daily deals, and there are Hollywood resident rates - the reviewer's group paid $80 each for a noon weekend round. You'll find it at 1645 Polk Street. Not a bad way to beat the heat before it peaks.

Thinking about buying your first home? Hallandale Beach is hosting a free First-Time Homebuyer Workshop this Saturday, July 18 - and it's offered in both English and Spanish.

These sessions are a genuinely useful resource, walking residents through the basics that trip people up: budgeting and credit, mortgage pre-approval, closing costs, and the down-payment assistance programs that can make a first purchase far more affordable.

In a market this competitive, a little know-how goes a long way. Space is usually limited, so check the City of Hallandale Beach website to confirm the time, location, and to register.

Need a break from the heat and the hustle? Tucked along the New River in Dania Beach is Secret Woods Nature Center - a free, 57-acre preserve that happens to be Broward's very first nature center and Florida's first designated "Urban Wilderness Area."

Shaded boardwalk trails (the Laurel Oak and New River Trails) wind over tidal marshes right up to the water, with a dense canopy that keeps things surprisingly cool even in July. Don't miss the walk-through Butterfly Island, where a 250-foot path draws zebra longwings and monarchs, or the observation deck where manatees occasionally glide by. You might also spot ospreys, herons, raccoons, and crabs along the way.

It's open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2701 W. State Road 84 (no pets or bikes), and admission is free. A perfect, low-cost family outing hiding in plain sight.

SPOTLIGHT: World Cup Final Watch Party

Image: City of Hollywood

The energy, the fans, the atmosphere - it all returns to Downtown Hollywood this Sunday, July 19, for the official World Cup Final Watch Party, and it's shaping up to be the party of the summer.

Thousands will pack Hollywood Boulevard (between 19th and 21st Avenues) to watch the biggest match in soccer on multiple giant outdoor screens. The gates open at noon, the Final kicks off at 3 p.m., and there's a full entertainment lineup: DJ Carlos Sonic (12-1 p.m.), Los Wizzards (1-2:30 p.m.), the championship match at 3, then DJ Carlos Sonic again until 7. Expect food trucks, specials at participating downtown businesses, and an all-day fan atmosphere. A few logistics: the free City Hall shuttle route has changed, now dropping off at S. 20th Avenue & Van Buren Street. More than 30,000 people came downtown for the last watch party and it hit capacity, so arrive early - and if it fills, nearby restaurants and bars are a great backup.
